Why I created this blog...I will be a teacher soon!

Allow me to introduce myself. I am Teresa, mother of four boys and wife to Adan and full-time student in a teaching credential program. I earned my Bachelor's in English Literature last June, 2009. I dove into this program that is supposed have me ready to teach in a middle or high school classroom in 3 quarters! It is fast and rigorous and with my sons' schedules and student teaching, it will be tough but...I must and will finish!!!

I decided to write everyday about my experience in the secondary classroom as sort of a way to unwind the day. I'm not sure anyone will find this interesting, however, it will serve it's purpose to me give me a release. I know it is going to be a challenge meeting my Resident Teacher, getting to know and trust him/her to guide me to take on my own classroom! I am nervous, excited and eager to start this process!

So far I have done only observations in different classrooms and I have seen some real messed up classroom management and some real strong classroom management that contain strict routine and focus and attentive students.

Currently, I am on winter vacation and I will resume classes at the University in January. It is then that I will post my daily experiences in the classroom. I am not yet assigned to a school nor a teacher. Most students are and it makes me even more nervous that I don't even know where the University will place me. Where will I begin my journey to becoming a teacher? The classes that I took last quarter were mostly about child psychology and lesson plans and resumes.

I will post soon. Thanks for reading.

P.S. The photo is my good friend Maggie (she listens to my whining about my struggles) on the left and myself on the right.
